Can't wait for camp to start? Come on out ot camp to meet the
camp staff, tour the campgrounds, check out the boats, try to hit the
bulls eye at the archery range. We'll have a campfire going so you
can learn a camp song or two while you make a s'more out of Girl Scout
Cookies. Visit the trading post to get some camp gear for when you
return later in the summer!
Spend time in the barn with your favorite horses. Ride in the
arena, learn proper skills and safety and maybe venture out on the
trails one day! When you're not in the barn, head out to the archery
range to perfect your shot! There will also be time to hang at the
pool and relax around the campfire with friends.
If getting dirty and making colorful creations is your thing
you'll love this messy, silly camp. We'll make goo,slime, sticky
snacks bright tie-dye and even paint with our toes. Toss on your
oldest clothes as we go on a scavenger hunt and wild walk which will
leave us covered in mud. When you're ready to get cleaned up jump
into the pool and splash around with your friends!

spend some time each day at the barn learning all of the basics of the
ponies and horses of Camp Tapawingo. Groom, ride and play barn games
with your friends. Hang up your hat for the day and enjoy what camp
has to offer - s'mores, campfires, swimming and more!
Ready for something a little wild and crazy? Pack your oldest
clothes to create all the messy fun you can imagine! Stomp around the
muddy creek and woods on a scavenger hunt, break out the face paint
for a messy makeover complete with a wacky hair contest, then get
covered from head to toe in shaving cream before rinsing off on a
paint covered slip 'n slide. All you need is a sense of adventure and
a little soap to get clean at the end of the week.
Let nature be your inspiration this week as you explore inner
and outer beauty. Learn how to see past your freckles and frizzy hair
as you build confidence on the low teams course. Forget the negative
messages of the world at the archery range. Create poetry and collect
found objects during a hike to show off the unique beauty of the
woods. Wrap up the week with a DIY spa lock-in at the lodge with
your new lifelong friends then prep for the Friday Family Lunch art show.
Develop backpacking and survival skills this week. Sleep in
the comfort of a platform tent; then pack gear and food for the week
and discover the far end of camp at Big Sky, putting up tents, cooking
meals over a fire, finding your way with a compass and practicing your
archery skills. Bond with your counselors and fellow campers, play
team-building games, explore the night. Return in time for an amazing
dinner, closing campfire and the traditional Trail Spa Night in the lodge.
Have you been to horse camp before and love it? Would you ever
want a career working with animals? Spend time each day in the saddle
and learn as much as you can absorb! Gain insight as you meet guest
speakers such as our vet, vet tech and farrier. Enjoy hands on
activities related to daily horse care, treating minor horse injuries
and preventative care. Then unwind at the pool and cook out over a
campfire with your friends.
Develop your leadership style at this one-week camp during
challenging team games and conquer the low ropes teams course. Spend
an afternoon shadowing, interviewing and learning tricks of the trade
from the camp staff. Work with your fellow LIT's as you make memories
for the younger resident campers. With the support of your counselors
and new friends, you'll work on the aMaze Journey, setting a positive
example for the younger campers.
Spread peace and inner beauty to your new friendsw and the camp
horses during this relaxing week at camp. Enjoy the cooling waters of
the pool and reflect on a sunset hike. During your lodge slumber
party enjoy making and using foot scrubs, chocolate facials and lip
gloss. Learn about healthy eating from the camp cooks and keeping
your body strong from the camp nurse. Spend an afternoon making and
delivering treats to our 4-legged campers, as well as learn how to
baid, groom and bathe the horses while you give them the full pampered treatment.
First time rider? Want to see what kind of
horse and saddle might suit you? Throughout the week at camp, you'll
spend time at the barn learning about horse breeds and colors. You'll
get the unique experience of riding in Western, English and side
saddles. Swimming archery and new friends are also awaiting you at camp!
'n Trail I (FULL)
Love to ride? How about learning how to ride trails and in the
woods? A few hourse each day will be spent with your four legged
friends mastering the basics in safety and fun of trail riding. When
the boots are off take to the trails on foot, with trail mix in hand,
to learn about trail markings and map reading. Don't worry, there
will be plenty of time to laugh with friends, tie dye t-shirts and
splash in the pool!
Explore Tapawingo and camp in a new place every night. Enjoy a
private pool party and sleep under the star. Head out for a night of
backpacking at Big Sky after a day of archery challenges. Finally,
it's off to a spa night in the lodge. When you aren't paacking for
your next move or setting up your tent, you'll have plenty of time to
go for a swim, learn some new outdoor cooking skills and paddle around
Don't have much time for camp this summer? Don't worry you can
still join other teens on the challenge course each day during this
3-day 2 night mini resident camp. Work together through the low teams
course, then spend time scaling the 40-foot climbing wall. Finally,
take to the sky as we head up the 20 and 40 foot high ropes course.
When you're ready to feel solid ground under your feet, relax at the
pool or enjoy some late night campfire treats.
Build up your courage and confidence while you challenge
yourself during this 3-day and two night mini resident camp. Learn
about fire safety, make an edible campfire and try your hand at
keeping a campfire going during a cook-out. Bring your swim suit to
battle it out water-style during an all-camp water carnival. After
the sun is set ee how brave you are during a night hike around camp to
see the stars and discover what wildlife is up with you. Even with
all that we'll still have time for songs and games!

Spend a few hours a day at the barn and on the trails! Learn
trail riding safety and enjoy time spent in the woods. When the boots
come off take to the trails on foot as you learn about compasses and
geocaching. You could even spot a deer or a wild turkey. Paddle

One of our most advanced equestrian camp for girls who are
comfortable at a walk, trot, canter andnconfident in the saddle. Bond
with your horse and friends for a few hours each day at the barn. Over
the span of two weeks, you’ll hit the trails, ride through fields,
jump obstacles, run through the barrel pattern and have a TON OF FUN.
Go home for the weekend and come back refreshed and ready for more
riding fun. When you’re not in the barn, paddle around in a canoe and
hang out with friends at the pool!
Isle Royale is a hidden jewel of the
national park system in the middle of Lake Superior close to the
Canadian border. It is an island of moose, wolves, foxes, otters,
eagles, loons and more waiting for you to explore its 100 miles of
woodlands, rocky ridge lines, pine bogs, lake shore and backcountry
campsites away from wi-fi, television, cellphones and any mechanized
vehicles but for the occasional fishing boat. Beautiful scenery, wild
berries to much on along the trail while searching for signs of moose
and falling to sleep in your tent to the song of the loon await you
and your fellow wilderness explorers this summer.

fins for feet so you can slip 'n' slide, toss water balloons and
become a shaving cream bunny. Make some mermaid-inspired art and

camp to show the magic that is under the sea. It's even worth leaving
the water for your Mermaid Slumber Party where you'll become a
princesss for the night.

saddle? At this equestrian camp for beginners, you'll learn the
basics of riding horses, explore equine traditions and learn the
history of riding elements from years past. Once you hop off the
saddle, head down to the archery range to check your aim and test your
night vision on trails during a night hike.
Calling all cowgirls who love to cook! Groom, ride and have
fun with the horses one afternoon. Swim with friends at the pool,
makecrafts and whip up some fun meals in the kitchen. Discover the
true western life as you camp out under the stars one night near the
barn. Keep an eye on your four-legged friends to discover what they
are up to at night. Might they need a mid-night snack too? Keep your
boots on for a ranch-style cookout over the campfire.
Travel Trail is so much more than camping in
the outdoors! It is an once in a lifetime adventure with fellow Girl
Scouts in the wilderness. We will be exploring the wilderness trails
of the Black River State Forest in Southeastern Wisconsin where elk
roam free and are being restored to their natural habitat once again.
So get your backpack and hiking boots ready for an adventure where you
will learn new outdoor skills such as cleaning your own water straight
from the stream, making your own campfire ring and gathering wood to
make a fire, locate your own site to pitch a tent 100 feet from the
trail and navigate using a compass and map. At the end of the week we
will drop our backpacks and hiking shoes and jump in for a swim and a
chance to canoe before heading back to Tapawingo!
Start the week with day camp and end the week with resident
camp. This session is ideal for first time or inexperience overnight
campers. Make life long friends and enjoy boating, swimming, songs
and games. Create some late night campfire treats and your own trail
mix for a hike. Pack your sleeping bag and swimsuit, we'll meet you

pool, slip down the slip 'n slide or play around while canoeing.

wouldn't be camp without songs, games and friendship bracelets!
Girl Scouts of Central Illinois has issued a council-wide
search for the strongest and best. GSCI is recuiting these brave
girls to learn extreme survival skills. Current information indicates
this team will need to perfect hike a wooded trail guided by the
stars. Mid-week, learn how to care for a horse and prove skills in
the arena. Boating and climbing skills will be tested as girls
navigate the water and rock wall.
Love horses and your time on the lake? Begin your day in the
barn hanging out with your fuzzy friends. Learn to ride, groom and
splash around with them while doing horse baths. Spend afternoons at
the canoe pon paddling around. Set up camp near the water one night
and boat until dark, then eat s'mores and sleep under the stars.
Become a nomadic traveler as we caravan and camp our way
through GSCI's camps. At Camp Peairs, explore Lake Bloomington during
an all-day boating trip and discover where the wake will take us.
Take aim on the archery range of Camp Kiwanis and hike the trail along
the Sangamon River. Spend the day in a harness swinging from the
cables of Camp Widjiwagan ropes course. When you finally return to
Camp Tapawingo, saddle up to learn riding skills while playing games
'n Trail III
Explore the trails, woods and wide open fields on horseback for
a bit each day...it doesn't get much better than that! Assess trail
situations as they arise, go on a mounted scavenger hunt through the
woods with your friends and try your hand at geocaching. Take your
trail adventures up a notch and camp out on the trails. Plan your
night, pack the tents, pick your spot and see how bright the stars are
away from main cmap. At night, kick off your boots, relax around the
fire and tell stories about your day.
If animals are your passion you've found the perfect camp
session. Practice swimming like a fish while we play games and learn
how animals move in the water. Make an animal themed trail mix to
munch on during a hike to discover who we share camp with. Stay up
late during your Zoo Pal slumber party where you'll make your own
stuffed animal, create fun animal snacks and watch a movie. Well even
have a few special furry and feathered friends visiting us this week!
Explore food! Learn fire safety as we cook walking tacos over
a campfire. Learn how the sun can cook making solar s'mores. Try new
foods and snacks from around the world.
This advanced equestrian camp is for teens comfortable in the
saddle at a walk, trot and canter. Learn how to carry big flags as
you ride in a synchronized pattern and have fun with your friends!
Spend time each day perfecting your team's pattern to show your family
at the end of the week! When you're not in the arena working
together, unwind at the pool or chill out with s'mores at the campfire.
Prepare to travel through time during super hero training.
With teams of time traveling heroes, climb rock walls, take out the
negative of the world at the archery range, and journey back in time.
Take a day trip to Challenger Learning Center and learn about space
travel while you manage a mission. Trip down to City Museum and slide
through walls. There will be plenty of time to take off your cape and
relax at the pool, that is, after you create your own super hero cape!
