Girl Scouts of Central Illinois holds special events throughout the year in our 38 county jurisdiction to help raise additional funds to support our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. We hope you will be able to join us for an upcoming event in your area. Our events will give you an opportunity to network with other friends of Girl Scouting in your area while supporting the council’s mission.

Desserts First - Peoria - February 26, 2015

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois is excited to host Desserts First, a competitive, culinary fundraising event where guests will sample elaborate desserts created by chefs from the Peoria area who turn a fabulous Girl Scout cookie into a delectable dessert. Peoria’s newest event will also feature heavy hors d'oeuvres, a prize wall, a silent auction, entertainment, and more!  Funds raised through Desserts First will benefit the over 5,000 Girl Scouts in the Peoria area by providing them the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. By supporting this event, you will help Girl Scouts make a real difference in the lives of girls in your community. As a “tried and true” organization, Girl Scouts offers contemporary, relevant programs in numerous areas from financial management and career exploration to anti-bullying and arts and science. (And, yes, we still go camping!)

Women of Distinction - April 22, 2015

The Women of Distinction awards will be presented at the event, set to take place April 22, 2015, at CityView Banquet and Meeting Center in Champaign.

Women of Distinction Nominations

Do you know of a worthy woman whom you would like to honor? Nominations are being accepted online. The Women of Distinction Awards recognize women’s contributions in the following categories: 

  • Business - outstanding abilities and accomplishments in business as a business order, entrepreneur, or mid-to-upper - executive management level.
     
  • Public Service - accomplishments, through direct assistance or advocacy, that have contributed to improving the quality of life for people in Champaign, Douglas, Ford, Iroquois, or Vermilion counties.
     
  • Creative Arts and Entertainment - excellence in the arts, whether in promoting, supporting, teaching, or performing.
     
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) - outstanding performance in a field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
     
  • Education - excellence as an administrator, board member, or educator.

Diamonds & Desserts - Bloomington - April 30, 2015

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois is excited to host its annual Diamonds event, an evening which will honor the outstanding contributions of Deanna Frautschi, Diamond honoree, for being a role model for young women, a leader in our community, and a friend to everyone. The event will also feature a prize wall, jewelry raffle, hors d'oeuvres and decade desserts inspired by Girl Scout cookies!

Ticket/Sponsorship Levels- Tickets for the event are $30. A Title Sponsor is for $2,500 which includes ten event tickets including a sponsor signage on the table. Gold Sponsor is for $1,000 and includes tickets for six and shared sponsor signage on the table. Silver Sponsor is for $500 and includes four complimentary tickets to the event. Bronze Sponsor is for $250 and includes two complimentary tickets to the event.
