Girl Scouts of Central Illinois holds special events throughout the year in our 38 county jurisdiction to help raise additional funds to support our mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character. We hope you will be able to join us for an upcoming event in your area. Our events will give you an opportunity to network with other friends of Girl Scouting in your area while supporting the council’s mission.

Desserts First  - February 25, 2016, Peoria

Girl Scouts of Central Illinois is excited to host Desserts First, a competitive, culinary fundraising event where guests will sample elaborate desserts created by chefs from the Peoria area who turn a fabulous Girl Scout cookie into a delectable dessert.

Par-A-Dice Hotel, East Peoria

By supporting this event, you will help Girl Scouts make a real difference in the lives of girls in your community. As a “tried and true” organization, Girl Scouts offers contemporary, relevant programs in numerous areas from financial management and career exploration to anti-bullying and arts and science. (And, yes, we still go camping!)

Chefs will present their creations before a panel of local celebrity judges in a best-of-the-best competition, while guests sample the tasty treats. Desserts First will also feature dinner stations, raffles, entertainment, and more. Your interest and generosity are essential to the success of this event and are greatly appreciated.

Women Distinction 25th Anniversary - April 21, 2016 Champaign

Mark your calendars for our Women of Distinction silver celebration, honoring outstanding women leaders in our community. Across 25 years Girl Scouts of Central Illinois has recognized leaders for their contributions to our community and service as role models to scouts with Champaign, Douglas, Ford, Iroquois and Vermilion counties.

Accepting Women of Distinction Nominations

Do you know a woman of distinction? Nominate her online, now through February 6, 2016. The Women of Distinction Awards recognize women’s contributions in the following categories:

  • Creative Arts and Entertainment - excellence in the arts, whether in promoting, supporting, teaching, or performing.
  • Business - outstanding abilities and accomplishments in business as a business order, entrepreneur, or mid-to-upper - executive management level.
  • Education - excellence as an administrator, board member, or educator.
  • Public Service - accomplishments, through direct assistance or advocacy, that have contributed to improving the quality of life for people in Champaign, Douglas, Ford, Iroquois, or Vermilion counties.
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) - outstanding performance in a field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.

The Women of Distinction awards will be presented
