This event is a partnership with SKATE for Girls, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that combines figure skating and STEM education to empower girls through movement and hands-on learning. The program uses skating as a tool to make math and science more engaging and accessible. Catered toward Juniors and Cadettes, Girl Scouts will participate in a fun, confidence-building ice skating session followed by interactive STEM activities designed to reinforce key concepts like speed, distance, and division - all in a supportive, girl-centered environment.
This is a drop-off event and will begin with classroom work at the Champaign Service Center. Do to classroom space limitations adults will not be able to stay for the classroom portion of the program, but are encouraged to stay for the ice rink portion of the program. If able, please provide transportation to the ice rink around 4pm. We will be able to transport a limited number of participants.
